A Little Bit About Me
My name is Siena and I'm a Los Angeles native. Next year is my senior year of high school and I have been studying spanish since I was 5. I began my spanish career in a spanish immersion elementary school and while I took a short break in middle school, I have continued studying spanish since. Unfortunately, I wish my spanish was better. I took AP Spanish this year and I am just waiting for results with my fingers crossed. This trip will allow me to improve my comprehension and speaking skills, while also allowing me to immerse myself in a foreign culture. I'm an avid traveller, yet I have never been to Spain, so I don't really know what to expect. I will be spending three weeks in a medium sized city called Cádiz. It is an ancient city with history dating back to the Phoenicians and I cannot wait to walk down the narrow, cobblestone streets. Because I live in a big, urban city, I am not really sure how well I will adapt, but the weather in Cádiz is very similar to the weather at home, so I think I should be fine in that department. As for my spanish, I am not worried about speaking to people because I have been speaking spanish for eleven years. I just hope the people I am speaking to don't get offended by my grammar. On another level, I am not afraid to try new things and Spanish food is something I am really looking forward to. Goodbye Los Angeles, hola Cádiz!
